Après avoir lu le premier tome que j’avais adoré, je n’ai pas été déçu par le second tome, A heart of bitter poison. Est-ce que ce tome s’est déroulé comme je l’aurai espéré ? Non. Est-ce qu’il est bien écrit et intéressant ? Oui.
Après l’horrible trahison que subit Lu, elle arrive à s’enfuir du Shadow Realm avec ses amis. Elle doit se cacher, finir sa transformation et trouver un moyen de mettre fin à la transformation des vampires. Dans ce tome, on retrouve nos personnages préférés qui sont toujours aussi drôles.
Malheureusement, ce deuxième tome met l’accent sur la romance entre Lu et Ashen. Et c’est d’ailleurs pour cela que je n’ai mis que la note 4/5. Je regrette qu’il n’ait pas autant d’action que dans le premier tome. Lu va consacrer la plupart de ce tome à sa relation avec Ashen. Je trouve dommage que la romance avec Ashen reprenne aussi vite. J’aurais préféré avoir des combats et des détails sur les personnages secondaires.
Ce tome m’a vraiment donné l’impression d’être dans une phase transitoire entre le premier tome et le troisième tome.
Bien que je n’étais pas pour la reprise de la romance dans ce second tome, je dois avouer qu’elle a été bien traitée. Ashen est remonté dans mon estime. J’espère que vous aimez les scènes spicy car vous allez être servis :).
Conclusion : En conclusion, je vous conseille aussi ce second tome. Mais j’espère que le 3ème tome ne me décevra pas.

After reading the first book which I loved, I was not disappointed by A heart of bitter poison. Did this book turn out as I expected? No. Was it well written and interesting? Yes.
After the horrible betrayal that Lu suffered, she manages to escape from the Shadow Realm with her friends. She has to hide, finish her transformation and find a way to stop the transformation of the other vampires. In this book, our favorite characters are back and they’re still very funny.
Unfortunately, this second book focuses on the romance between Lu and Ashen. And that is why my rating is 4/5. I regret that this novel doesn’t have as much action as the first book. Lu will spend most of this book on her relationship with Ashen. I regret that the romance with Ashen picks up so quickly. I would have preferred to have some good action scenes and details about the secondary characters (her best friend is the best).
This volume really made me feel like I was in a transitional period between book one and book three.
While I wasn’t for the return of the romance in this second book, I have to admit that it was handled well. I hate Ashen a little less. I hope you like spicy scenes because Lu and Ashen are hot together :).
Conclusion : In conclusion, I also recommend you this second volume. But I hope that the 3rd volume will not disappoint me.
